Thanks bye.

Here is the Official Ubuntu Connecting to the Internet Documentation https://help.ubuntu.com/7.04/internet/C/connect-to...

I am not sure if you are aware but support for Ubuntu 7.10 ends in a few days so it might be worth upgrading to Ubuntu 8.04.2 https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HardyUpgrades

It depends on the connection. In most cases, it will be just a case of "Plug an ethernet cable in" or "Pick the right Wi-Fi network from the menu".

You are much better off using Applications >> Add/Remove, then Advanced Button at the bottom to see if there is an install for your wireless card. There probably is. Otherwise, you better find the install instructions after you manually download any software. (I'm running the same version, still learning Linux and loving it).
