Looking to draw a picture and I need some help on finding poses?
My friend had this dream, in which, he had two snakes as friends that he could take anywhere with him. They could hide on each of his arms as tattoos and animate or come to life and remove themselves from him as needed. I want to draw this for him. My style is anime and I'm looking for a pose to draw from. I want a tall lean man with feet shoulder width apart, standing and starring straight ahead. His arms need to be out to his side. Not straight out like a crucifixion, but not low to his sides either. I want to draw the snake tattoos coming to life and slithering off his arms from his hands. I really need a reference to draw this off of cause I'm not very strong in drawing full body anatomy yet. If someone knows of something that could be helpful I would be very grateful. I want to do this as a birthday present and only have about a month and a half to do it!
Thx ahead of time, but I wanted to add that I have already tried searching thru DeviantArt for hours with no luck. :(

Get a friend who vaguely fits the description, and pose him the way you want and take his picture.
If you have a digital camera, you get the image you want right away. If you have a film camera, with overnight processing you can have the picture to work from by tomorrow.
This would actually have been much faster that searching the web and posting this question. It also has the added advantage of you being able to pose this person in EXACTLY the position you want instead of having to settle for a pose that is only "good enough."

Okay you'll be able to do it a few approaches. Using a software and your mouse, which in my private opinion takes plenty of ability and precision. The opposite direction you stated it, you'll be able to draw it after which experiment it with a scanner or an all-in-one pinter. The first-class technique to do it's to have a drawing panel to your laptop, is a gadget that you'll be able to purchase in lots of digital retail outlets (Best Buy I have visible it), is a pad with a pencil and also you attract it, with a application that you'll be able to difference colours and and layout and all type of stuff, while you conclude the drawing you'll be able to upload matters to it making use of yet another or the equal application, the pad it self isn't THAT steeply-priced, but it surely all relies, on which one you purchase, you'll be able to get a inexpensive one for starters and if you're making improvements to and like it or is for reputable use then you'll be able to purchase an steeply-priced one. Hope this is helping your query.

There' s a program called poser that artists can use a figure to move it around when you don't have a model to work from. I personally keep magazine clippings and old magazines for reference, and use live models when I can.
