Hi Tom,
Basically, all AFL is shown on the 10 network here as they have the rights for broadcasting (free to air) or Fox Sports if you have cable.
Some (a lot) of matches will either run concurrently in different parts of the country or overlap so you can't show 2 matches at once. Plus you have time zone differences within Australia that affects it as well.
It's to ensure as many matches as possible get shown, and there is a consistency with the start times of the matches (broadcast start time)

Its because Fox has broadcasting rights to live games but the main reason is if it was live in vic not as many people would actually go to the game because the more people at the game the more money the AFL makes

It's the same here, Fremantle game isn't being shown live into Perth. The people who went to the game will be home before it even starts on TV.

they only show sell out games live. If you havent got a big crowd then they delay the telecast. only good thing about it is that if you dont want to watch the whole game you can look up the scores already.

and mainly to make money.
so more people will go to the game and if they want to watch it they will have to wait for it to come on and then sit through all the comercials!
