Pay it off and get another one.

    You are being ripped off

Write a certified letter to the creditor and request that your interest rate be adjusted. They will probably make it higher.

If you haven't used the card, DON'T. You may have the option of refusing the higher interest rate, but you cannot use the card ever again. If you do use the card again, the interest on your balance will be recomputed from the date of the increase and it will cost you dearly. You also have a time limit to respond to this extortion attempt. Failure to respond or if you use the card, then you accept the new terms by default. Shred the card. No one can afford 29% interest.

If the increase was because you were late in payments, over limit or other causes by you, then you're out of luck.

Best thing to do: pay it off ASAP. Concentrate

on doubling the payments or add anything you can afford to your payment.

This will also help your credit score.
