Hi fellow Singaporeans, any suggestion on Clean, Safe & value for money hotel in Bali?

Personally, I dislike Kuta as a whole (and absolutely LOATHE multinational chain hotels, completely removed from the natural rhythm of a place). It could be any noisy beach town in southeast Asia. Good night life of course. Gotta love those Bali gigolos as well. :) If I HAD to stay there, I'd pick Poppies I or II like another answerer said. They're pretty!

Sanur is ok. Apart from the stunning view of Gunung Agung at dawn from the beach, there's not much to recommend it except it's quieter (ie. more pleasant) than Kuta. I liked Bali Pavilions on one trip – definite Balinese feel but less florid/over ornate than other places. It inspired my place in Singapore, not a budget option though.

Ubud is lovely. I loved Made Wijaya's Taman Bebek on another trip, tumbling down the rice terraces of the Sayan Valley. Also not a budget option, but worth splashing out on for a night or two for the sheer, utter romance of the place. It's a wondrous place to wake up to each morning...

Stayed in Murni's (US$70, overpriced for a small one-room suite, secluded, overgrown, pretty garden) and Artini 2 the last time (US$40 a night for a spacious aircon deluxe, nice grounds next to a paddy field with the frogs crying at night), a 5-minute walk from the Monkey Forest.

Have heard good things about Tegal Sari in Ubud. Will try it the next time.

Buy the hotel voucher upon arrival at Bali Airport. It should be less than Rp 700,000

The Santika Hotel in Tuban. I'm not Singaporean though.

depends on what u want. i go for cheap and safe and near kuta. try masa inn hotel. in fact there are good choices along Poppy 1 and Poppy 2. It's not a high class hotel neither is it a cheapo motel.
