Can 1 fine Soccer player make a difference as turning the tide?

Would Brazil have won 3 world cups in 12 years{58,62, & 70} without Pele?

Would West Germany have won Euro 72 & the 74 World cup without Gerd Muller?

Would Italy have won the 82 world cup without Rossi?

Would France have won the Euro84 without Platini or the 98 world cup without Zidane?

Would Argentina have made it to the world cup finals in 86 & 90 without Maradona?

The same for Brazil in the 98 & 2002 world cups without Ronaldo?

Absolutely! How many games have hinged on the play of one player aside the one's you've listed. It's not only a case of right place, right moment but also skill, talent and lots of practice. Soccer/Football is one of the few games that can hinge on one point and that can often come down to one player either scoring or preventing scoring because of talent.

Hm, when I first read this question I wasn't sure.

But your lists proves that yes, 1 fine soccer player can make a difference. Although it takes an entire team to win, it also takes key players who have certain skills that they use to successfully win and keep their game together. It's like with wolves, the ones who are the strongest, are the ones who lead the pack!

Wow! U made me think! But to me those teams are not a player team they have more than one player that was a real player at that time, Brasil was NOT only Pele, and same thing go to the other teams, that's what makes them who they are THEIR NOT A ONE PLAYER TEAMS!!! just my opinion!

I have never really thought about it, but looking over the list that you have provided, I would think that these are pivotal players that had great effect on their teams.
