Problems with 1994 Chrysler Town and Country van.?

Low beam headlights would not work. Replaced headlight dimmer switch on steering column, now not only do i have no low beam lights now my winshield wipers wont work either. Problem started about a year ago, when you would move the tilt wheel the headlights would go off. My guess is a broken wire. But cant tell its so hard to see the wiring in the steering column. It has me puzzled. Thanks

I'am dealing with the same problem but the car I'am working on is a 96 intrepid. What I'am doing is replacing both of the wiring plug in harness's that run to the multi function switches on the steering column. On mine you could smell wiring burning and see smoke coming out of the steering column assembly and when you move the steering wheel it stop burning etc , nothing was affected until awhile ago when suddenly you can't shut off the wipers and just last wk suddenly I've no fog lights or headlights too.I had by pased the wiper system and had no problem with getting working wipers but now the wiring is melted more and causing the headlight issue , once I use a different multi switch and the harness is pulled on the lights work , so thats why I'am changing both of the wiring harness's going to the multi switch to be sure no more shorted out or affected wires exist.

What's probably happened on your vehicle like mine and many other vehicles out there is the wiring or a wire has gotten pinched by the tilt steering and most of the time it's related to the black ground wire needing replacement.

Hope that helps and best of luck.By the way I'am replacing the harness's tom and what I recommend is taking the drivers seat out so you can look up from the brake paddle etc area and see inside the column with a good test light.

If you can find the ground wire try making up a whole new ground connection , use wire connectors and a new wire of the same thickness or gage and simply replace the old wire connected by a plug in connector by the steering wheel column.

definite you like a thermostat. make confident the followers are working at working temp, if no longer replace them. Does the water pump artwork? verify this by technique of establishing radiator cap, while cool, and finding for action in coolant. no action undesirable. make confident there is sufficient coolant. If all fails than the radiator needs to get replaced.
