Question regarding filing extension..................?

I am ready to efile our federal return,

BUT

can I still file an extension for state?

Can we make payments to state?

    Dear M: It varies state by state as some states accept the federal extension while others only accept the federal if you are getting a refund. Check your states dept of revenue/taxation to see the requirements for your state.

    All states would love to have you send in some money and it maybe the best approach as you can avoid interst by paying on time.
