Have you ever heard of food poisoning?
I would not leave a ricotta cheese dish out unless my house is frozen and I am dressed up as an Eskimo. I would not even venture to eat anything left out that contains milk products or eggs for more than overnight in freezing cold weather.
Please do not eat it I would not like to hear that you are sick. Just the thought of it is making me shudder in revulsion .

I've fallen into that same trap. I always go for the center cheese blob. I feel like it will taste better after it's sat for a while - and it's funny because at the time it seems more logical to wait to pick up the cheese blob when it's not all stringy. (And sometimes the cheese was hidden under a slice of the pizza, and you see it later, when you wake up.) More often than not, it comes down to level of intoxication on my part. And that's when the innovative ideas start pouring in. More efficient, kickass packaging of beer is a fine example of that. Unless you were joking, then I have no idea what you mean.

1 day is okay but 2 days is not recommended. The problem is the ricotta and eggs, the meat is usually dry sausage and prosciutto which have been cured and will last weeks without refrigeration. You will hear "My mother/grandmother always did it". Don't argue as you will not convince or change their minds. My mother did it but I do not. They probably tell you not to eat tomato sauce and then drink milk. Ask them why do they make lasagna with ricotta which is milk.
