What is the Best and Fastest Way to File for an Extension on Federal Taxes?

I still need time to research the tax breaks for having bought a house this year (I bought in January).

What is the best way to file for an extension?

And can I do it online?

    yes do it online, but u need to register first

    you can file the extension online through taxact.com or turbotax.com for free.form 4868 is the form you need to file.

    you can go to turbotax.com and look on the right of the page in the 4th square(box)with the clock in the box and file the extension there.

    Mail in the automatic extension form by April 15th.
