how to use a GI Bill?

My uncle is a veteran and he wants to buy a home. I would like to know how can we go about getting his GI bill?

BTW...we live in California

    First thing is to get to the nearest Veterans affairs office(V.A.).Have his discharge and DD214 form.And get the paper work started.Getting all your Ducks lined up will take time.Good luck!And thanks for his service.

    GI Bill is for education of the veterans or AD members. It has nothing to do with purchasing a home.

    What you might be talking about is a VA loan. You do that through a bank that is authorized to do VA home loans. Wells Fargo, Navy Federal Credit Union, USAA are examples. There is a lot of necessary paperwork to be eligible and he still has to go through underwriting. He will be required to live in that house 2 years.
