Does the police notify you if someone puts a police report against you?

Had a guy harassing me, threatening me and stalking me. I placed a police report and not sure if that is why he stopped or maybe he is taking a break. Does anyone know if they give him a warning?

The only way to find out is to ask your local police department. They are the only one that will know.

Unless you actually sign a complaint against him they will not contact him. A report is just a report. The person is just a suspect at this point in time. Once he is charged, he will then be notified by mail that he has to appear in court on whatever charges he is alleged to have committed.

Now is this is a case of domestic violence, harassing, threatening, and stalking could require the police to sign a complaint. A warrant could be issued, and if so, the individual would be arrested on that warrant.

Another reason the police would notify this individual would be if they needed information that was needed to complete the report. But again, if it's just a report, the only way he would know was if he called or went to the police station and asked.
