Did Hank Aaron ever lead the majors in HR's in a single season?

Update:

very good but one minor error, in 1963

he was tied. So that would be co-homerun leader of 1963

Aaron led both major leagues only once, in 1957 with 44 HR. Roy Sievers led the AL with a mere 42.

The Hammer also led (or co-led) the NL in 1963, '66, and '67, but with fewer than the AL champion(s) each time.

Not to worry, he got the Hall plaque anyway.
