I have been in therapy for about 3 months. My therapist and I "click" most of the time, but during crisis?
when there is a need to talk on the phone (which she has encouraged me to do), she always (or 90% of the time) comes across very aloof and negative. Is it time to look for another therapist? This question is not for people who have no experience in therapy, please..
For Answer #3--"click" means get along, work well together.

I think you need to focus on what feels right for you. Personally, I'm the type to bring that up next time I see them.
I guess I need more examples, but in general I found that telling my therapist they've upset me was the best way to get them to rectify the situation. Starting over will be very flustering for you (at least it was for me), so you should only consider doing it if you *really* don't feel right about this person.
In conclusion - Just tell her that she's upsetting you. See if she fixes it. If she doesn't, then you can take on the task of finding someone better suited to your needs.

No it's time to flag up the fact that at those times you are experiencing her as very aloof and negative. Anything you say that starts with "I am.." I think.. I feel.. I believe.. eliminates the other person from feeling attacked, owning what you say is helpful. Speak from "I", afterall, you are entitled to think whatever you think and feel whatever you feel.
Something else to consider is: what constitutes a 'crisis' for you ?and
during crisis what do you think it is that you need from somebody at that time? These answers can be discussed with your therapist you know.
You may find yourself anticipating how she will receive it, avoid doing this if you can. If you can't, make her aware of what you were anticipating.

You might consider going to another therapist as well, not necessarily letting the former go just yet. Kind of like getting a second opinion. The reason I say don't let your current therapist go, is there might be an issue of a skewed reality. As in, is she being negative, or is she saying things that you don't agree with and therefore take it in a negative manner?
