the ankh is a symbol of life .
also symbolized water in Egyptian rituals of purification and placing it in front of the king's face symbolized the breath of eternal life the ankh sign was depicted being offered to Akhenaten and Nefertiti by the hands at the end of the rays descending from the sun disk, Aten. Therefore, the ankh sign is not only a symbol of worldly life, but of life in the netherworld. Therefore, we also find the dead being referred to as ankhu, and a term for a sarcophagus was neb-ankh, meaning possessor of life.

The ancient Egyptian word "ankh" means "life" (often seen as eternal life), and relates to the sun rising over the Nile river or anything along those lines.
Black in ancient Egyptian terms refers to Kem or Kemit as the Black Land; as the Underworld and funerary deities; fertility and life as new beginnings from death. Black often seems interchangeable with their notions of blue (where blue as Irtiu, or Khesbedj means the heavens; water; fertility; life; rebirth; primeval flood; silver; gods with blue hair and gold skin like Djehuti/Thoth; and ankhs.
