Fellow conservatives, do you believe that Global Warming is real?
Why or, why not? Heres how I feel about it: There is no question that the planet is getting hotter. Thats obvious. But I cannot be certain as to what is really causing it to get hotter. I'm not a scientist, so therefore its not my job to say for sure anyway. Al Gore isn't a scientist either. Yet he continues his ambition to prove to the world that it is "Us" thats causing global warming. I would love to cut down on pollution, and CO2. But I would want to do it in a way that doesn't hurt buisnesses. Is there a way that this can be done without costing a fortune? That way, we make everyone happy! Using corn to make fuel was a brilliant idea. But! It has its down side. They say that within a few years, a food shortage could result from using corn. But I cannot help but wonder if there is something that could replace all of the toxic fuels and chemicals used in factories that is inexpensive, and will not harm buisness. I mean as long as we do it this way, I see no problem with it. But if we increase taxes that go more towards cattle and swine producing methane. I have my doubts that its a very good use of tax payer dollars. I mean what could we do about it? The world isn't gonna quit eating beef and pork! I have no problem with environmental protection as long as it doesn't result in a waste of tax payer dollars. I think we should use common sense. Most of us believe that the earth is getting hotter. That is even a prophesy found in the Bible. So Naturally many Christians and Jews believe in it as well.
Pat Robertson even believes Global Warming is real. I respect that. I don't think that this should be a political issue. But we should know the facts based on what qualified individuals have to say. Al Gore isn't qualified. He is a politician, not a scientist.

You're right-it shouldn't be a political issue. The f'ing government should stop taxing us based on this junk science, for one thing...
I think George Carlin said it best-

No.
I do not believe it for two reasons.
First and most obvious, are the record daily high/low temps taken since the 1850s. If we were steadily increasing our global temps, they would reflect that.
Now I understand that some scientists have said this is what is happening, but the records simply do not back this up! For such an obvious tool, you would think they would have thought to include it.
The next reason is that I lived through the "the next ice age is upon us," scare of the 70's. Back then scientists were positive, beyond any shadow of doubt that we were blindly heading for a new ice age. At that time records showed we were consistently having colder and colder years.
But...what do you know, no ice age.
And guess what"
There wouldn't be any climate changing global warming either.

I'm not a conservative.
Of course global climate change is real; of course it was caused by us.
The wingnuts keep saying that this is an idea Gore invented. Gore has been listening to SCIENTISTS. It's not his idea. It's science. Fact. Truth.
All the things the wingnuts hate.

No, using corn is a bad idea. It uses more energy to convert corn to fuel. It's STILL burning carbon, thus, contributingto the problem.
And, yes, it hurts the food supply.
What about CLEAN, energy? Sun. Wind. Oceans. Geothermal.
Common sense? How about science, reason, evidence, fact?
The Bible? A book of myth?
sigh
You wouldn't recognize common sense if it bit you on the nose.
You respect lying, hate-mongering, braindead Pat Robertson?
Uh, yes, we SHOULD listen to scientists. That's what Gore and I have been doing, not to mention Obama.
Why don't YOU listen to scientists?
Why reject reason and evidence?

Correlation does not prove causation.
What if the world is getting warmer, how can you prove we're the ones doing it? Only specious reasoning can provide an answer for that.
And, why did "Global Warming" turn into "Climate Change?" So the politicans can cover all the bases if the world suddenly starts cooling.

I am a lifelong republican, huge right winger on social and economic issues- but, Global Warming is real and it's happening folks. We need to do things to prevent it, start recycling, etc. The government doesn't need to regulate anything, like that dipshit AL Gore thinks.

Not man made global warming, no, I don't believe in it . As someone who takes his Christian faith seriously,I have to say that Pat Robetrson does not hold much credibility with serious Christians, especially after he endorsed Rudolph Juliani even though he knew him to be a pro abortion pro gay rights candidate. The reason Pat gave for endorsing him, was because he said he felt Juliani was the only one who could win, needless to say, Pat compromised his Christian faith, lost supporters of his ministry like myself, and ended up with egg on his face just because of supporting a liberal Republican who didn't even make it out of the primaries. God bless.

I don't believe in Global Warming, I too agree that it's always good to reduce pollution and be conservative on power used and such. But to me the who 'going green' and such is just a gimmick for businesses to make more $$.

there is no doubt that the Earth is getting warmer, it has been since the last ice age, however the concern is the rapid acceleration, It really is a concern because you can only speculate on what will happen and since most science is speculation people freak out!

no i definitely dont think its real. the earth has only risen 1 degree average. humans dont cause it and the o zone rebuilds itself. people cant make up their minds. the major holes in the ozone are at the poles anyways. if it global warming was to be logical, there would be holes in the ozone above industrial countries like the US and europe. instead it is the north and south poles.

I believe it is real but not to the dire point Al gore believes.
