What should i get for a hospitality gift for remote village peoples in Costa Rica?

Im going to Costa Rica in may, Im also staying with the Bri-Bri tribe and need to bring a hospitality gift... I live in washington and need a gift idea specific to reflecting my at home lifestyle... any ideas?

    well, people on native tribes here in costa rica are so so so poor.

    You could give them some mosquito nets, blankets, clothes, cooking stuff or some basic things.

    also, you could give children some toys.

    A practical gift is the best. I recommend anything that is cooking related, like a big pot or frying pan or large spoons etc. Since these items can be expensive in CR and are always useful.

    However, do not do what a friend of my got for a family years and years ago one that is teflon coated, since they might think it is dirty and the mom spent a day scrubbing the non-stick surface off.

    I would highly recommend something that is nice, but practical, such as towel or linen sets, a decorative blanket or quilt, a decorative basket, etc. These people are very poor, so the gift should be functional as well as sentimental.
