Season 9 Episode 9 is when he was introduced. Episode 10 is when he is offered the position at the lab. Episode 11 is his first episode with his name in the credits instead of William Petersen.

It was Season 9 and I am sure episode 2, I think that the 1st episode was when they solved Warricks Murder. I hope that helps
