Is Snakes And Arrows (Rush's live album) a good place to start for fledgling Rush fans?

I checked it out from the library, and I was wondering if it would give me a good impression/representation of Rush.

Snakes and Arrows is their newest work. There is a live version of their Tour and a studio album. This is a good Rush work, but not a great place to start.

Check out Moving Picturs, Rush's best and most accessible studio album. "Tom Sawyer", "YYZ", "Limelight" are all great songs.

After that, check out 2112, Permanent Waves, and Fly By Night. Permanent Waves and Moving Pictures are their best albums.

Think of it this way: Any Rush is good Rush!

Yeah, you should enjoy this CD set!!! It's really great!! I saw them live on this tour, and they were fantastic!!

If you like it, check out the studio "Snakes and Arrows" album. Then I would grab "Fly by Night" and "Moving Pictures".

Yes there is a live version but it was limited to a few copies I don't know how many. But the studio album is great 13 songs, I think the live would be a great one to start with if you can get your hands on it

    take care

    I think there's a live verson and a non-live of that...

I wouldn't start with S&A, I would probably start with Moving Pictures and Permanent Waves, then move on to 2112, Fly By Night, Hemispheres, A Farewell to Kings, etc.

Well echoing what Man in the Box was saying, S&A isn't a good enough record to start with for newbies....go with 2112, Moving Pictures, or Permanent Waves.

Your confused. S&A is not a live album, and Snakes and Arrows Live is a DVD, not an album.

    I don't think it's a live album
