Is this how people don't "feel pain" during a fight?

They relax as much as possible before a fight, and even during if possible. They prepare themselves for the pain and they don't think about it and apparently it lowers the level of pain dramatically. My friend calls it the "Monk Effect."

    There is a psychology behind pain tolerance. I used to tell myself "pain means you're not dead."

    But I also think there's a practical side. The more relaxed you are, the more likely you are to make bigger punches miss. You'll see them coming and react better. That's what carried me through my sparring. I'd take a shot and realize that I wasn't going to die, then everything slowed down.

    I don't think its called "monk effect" but as someone said before when your relaxed and thinking clearly you see punches better and have better reactions from your muscles

    but you can also teach the body pain resistance, by repeatedly introducing it to pain in a particular area... using the same theory of muscle gain

    The body is probably the most efficient machine on the planet after all

    Its adrenaline. When you get hit in the face without knowing you were gona get hit you dont feel it (like in a fight) but when you are just messing around (when you have boxing gloves or something) and you know its not a real fight and they hit you in the face **** that **** hurts...

    yea its pretty much pure adrenaline.sometimes when i spar or fight I don't even feel the punches or i will get a ton of burns on my back from the ropes or glove burns on my arms that i don't even feel until even the next day lol

    No. Its purely the adrenaline. The nerve endings have a reduced sensitivity.

    Yeah it's either that, like getting focused on the fight and everything.
