What makes a man stay a bachelor?

i believe it is because he is trully afraid of marying the wrong preson and that he is afraid to let anyone in due to either the fact that he has been hurt or burned in the relationship..give it time

Sometimes it's not through choice - everyone's friend but nothing more - there's always a scumbag lurking in the background who is a better catch,

I'm pretty young, so I don't really know, but my opinion is, they might not want to feel tied down or are so used to being on their own that it's weird to let someone really in. Some men just don't like marriage, and some are just scared. He also just might like being a bachelor. I hope everything works out for you!

Some men simply don't want that kind of commitment in their lives. They think of marriage as a social prison and the spouse is the warden with the keys to his social life. Being single comes with so much more freedom than being in a marriage. Marriage means full support for your spouse and as men, some of us simply don't want to be apart of that. We want to roam the earth and explore new opportunities that marriage simply doesn't let us do.

Some don't like to answer to anyone. They want the freedom.
