Is there any science behind residual energy?
Can you provide me with information or links related to residual energy and possible science or studies to back it up? Or even any links related to residual energy that do not have to do with hauntings/ghosts.
I do not want any information about how it isn't possible. So for everyone out there who thinks it is ridiculous just skip this question.

Ahh but I do remember reading some journal articles on the subject & am looking to read more.

But if you close your eyes to the truth, you surely won't see it.
Your question should go in the "alternative" science category, where scientific rigor is a little more "free." I'm not saying it's not possible, I'm just saying that there is no mainstream scientific background to it, so why ask in a mainstream scientific forum?
Look in google scholar (scholar.google.com) for journal articles. But keep in mind that there are peer reviewed journals and there's gray literature or pop literature. You can find a journal article on anything. But the only thing you'll find in peer-reviewed journal articles will be on disproving paranormal stuff or it will be about the psychology of the brain that makes people believe in the paranormal.
