How do I deal with this Photoshop error?

I currently own Photoshop Elements 5.0 and it's been working just fine for the last couple years. But tonight, every time I try to make any kind of adjustments to a photo and save it as a JPG, I keep getting a message that reads "Could not complete your request because of a program error." Does anyone know why this is happening and how I might fix it?
