What does AV stand for on fanfiction.net?
Someone left a review saying that it was one of the few AV stories they have read. I was just wondering what it meant.

Hmm, hard to say without the story itself or at least the fandom. It could stand for Alternate Version, if it's almost the same story as the original, but told through another persons eyes or with a drastic change but still following the same basic plot. It could also be told through another persons eyes.
Examples would be if you read a Harry Potter fic were Harry is a girl, gay, or secretly allied with Voldemort throughout his school years. It could also be original story told from Hermione's perspective.
If that's not it, it could also be short for the name of the fandom or a certain pairing. Some fandoms have terms for certain periods of time.
Again referring to the HP fandom, the term marauder is telling you that the story sets during the James/Lily era.
But if you want to be absolutely sure, why don't you ask the reviewer? I'm sure they won't mind.
Hope it helped!
