Anyone been to Cancun, Mexico?

I went on my honeymoon for almost 2 weeks. We stayed at an all inclusive resort so all of our meals and drinks including alcohol were free! The good thing is that our resort offered fre trips to Chichinitza, Tulum, Isla Mujeres, Balam so we did not have to pay for that. The only things we payed for were for other trips we took such as riding on rv's thru the jungle, boating, horseback riding, Xcaret, Deep sea diving and other such things. We actually only wasted about 700 hundres dollars and that was including tips. You do not have to exchangeyour dollars for pesos since they take US dollars there.

So where are you staying at? If it's an all inclusive resort then you will save alot. Many resorts have special things you can do with out spending a dime. So consider spending time at the resort to save money. If you need any more help with things to do out there, hit me up. Hope your trip is nice. We plan on going back for our anniversary this October.

Usually, the ATMs have low fees. You can draw pesos directly from your bank account. I would not recommend carrying around all your $ the whole trip. That's asking for problems.

I stayed at an all-inclusive in Cancun for a week and only spent a couple hundred. It was also all you can drink, so that helped a lot!

You can shop around ahead of time for the extra excursions that you want to do (parasailing, scuba, snorkeling, etc.) That will save some money and help you plan your budget. Usually, the excursions offered by the hotels are a rip-off but you take a risk by going with a fly-by-night operation because the quality can be sub-par. There are many websites that will give you an idea of the price and quality of various attractions. Step 1 is to see which are offered by the hotel for free.

I was there this time last year, for a fortnight, and spent £900. We were in an all inclusive hotel, but there is so much to do!! Ive been to Cancun 3 times and if I win the lottery, I would buy a place there...it's brilliant

Get out of town. Mexico is great but Cancun is not. It is just a hotel strip and the town is not worth visiting

Go see a few Mayan ruins. (Tulum & Chicken Pizza). Go down the coast and see some real places. If you speak some Spanish.get lost! Hire a car. The locals in the sticks / Boonies are great.

Take enough money to hire a car and eat out. Have an adventure!

I got married in Cancun, we did not take Pesos we took US Dollars, we went wimming with Dolphins and went shopping, soit really depends if you are planning to do any sightseeing, the hotels are brilliant so if you are staying in your resort you wont need any money. We did not spend all that much. Hope you have a great holiday

Get a solid handbook e book like the Lonely Planet. anticipate to get pulled over and "fined" for dashing or regardless of. purely smile and pay up. from time to time you could good deal a sprint. yet once you upward thrust up the nerve to fly, Cancun is between the main inexpensive flights to Mexico or to get on the component of correct u.s.. Fly there and then take the buses soputh for some great adventuires in Guatemala, Belize and Honduras.

Its pretty cheap. I think I was there for 8 days and only spent about $550 other than the hotel. Hey check out Bar del Mar it is so awesome if its still there! Oh and remember to carry a little extra cash to bribe the police if you get in trouble, it happens.

Depends if you want to do some serious drinking. Charter a fishing boat, go sightseeing, If you stay on the premises and do nothing else you still need money for tipping and shopping. 1k

1 peso is about 0.08 USD...i don't remember how much the drinks cost though... what hotel are you staying at???
