Is the fact that FOX News is Number 1 in the ratings a clear indication of...?

Exactly which people in this country are the truly lazy people...

The way a TV station gets to be number 1 is based upon how many fat, lazy stupid Americans they can get to sit on their butts for 4-5 hours a day slobbering and drooling over the rants and raves of TV talking heads.

It is the same way a show that has Lil' Kim dancing around like a fool becomes number 1 in the ratings....or how a show that has washed up B-listers rehabing with Gary Busey gets to stay on the air...they get as many fat, stupid and lazy Americans to sit in front of the BOOB TUBE watching Jeff Conaway talking (if slurring is speech) like GW Bush.

So the next time someone puts the FOX News channel's Number 1 ratings on a high pedastal as some kind of acheivement to be proud of, please remember the context of what it takes to become number 1 in the ratings.

I for one am quite proud that MSNBC falling in the ratings...clear sign that Liberals are the people working extra hours during a Republican caused recession....while the conservatives, still in denial of the Bush recession, put in their mere 8 hours of work then rush home to keep the LAZY boy warm until 10 pm watching their gods stir up trouble.

Agree or disagree? Disagreers please explain how sitting in a chair watching TV every night is an accomplishment to be proud of???

I dont know if I agree completely with your argument but I do think its funny when right wingers say that fox news isn't "main stream media" when it's #1. That sounds pretty main stream to me.

This is the answer I gave about another question on why libs are so concerned about hating FOX news: I don't know why they hate it. The Dems have had NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, MSNBC, and almost every major news paper in America that slants the news to their (lib) liking since the 1980's. But, when FOX came out with a news station that actually slants to the right, the libs have hated it ever since. I don't get it? They complain about 1 tiny station, when they have the rest of the media at their disposal.

Yes, Fox is the only backward channel available to the less-than-30 percent of the population that subscribes to their views. The rest of the population (1) doesn't want tv but engages in better pursuits, or (2) splits their time between msnbc and cnn and internet news outlets.

    ??????

First, read the Guidelines for this site; your "question" violates them on severl counts.

Second, If Fox is still #1, that just means it's the ONLY wing-nut channel. All the non-wing-nuts have a variety of sources of news.

Your reasoning here is as sensible as that of any wing-nut.

I don't watch Fox News or MSNBC. My TV is mainly used for mindless entertainment purposes (not that I believe Fox and MSNBC are intellectual entertainment).

"The income tax has destroyed the concept of financial privacy. It has demolished the idea that a man's home is his castle. It has provided unlimited funding for politicians to wreck lives and property. It has forced one-earner families to become two-earner households -- leading to decreased parental supervision of children; loss of family values; and increased crime, promiscuity and drug use. So long as the government has the power to invade our lives, rummage through our records, and take what it wants from our income, we will have only as much freedom and take-home pay as the politicians condescend to let us have." - Harry Browne, Libertarian Party

"The money powers prey upon the nation in times of peace and conspire against it in times of adversity. The banking powers are more despotic than a monarchy, more insolent than autocracy, more selfish than bureaucracy. Hitler is the arch propagandist of our time. These are examples of his strategy in attempting to mold the opinions and attitudes of his intended victims to his own purposes. Division, doubt, and fear are the weapons he uses within one nation arrayed against him. His purpose is summed up in his own phrase-to sow "mental confusion, contradiction of feeling, indecision, panic."

Even today Hitler's propaganda is a weapon constantly used against us, we need to understand clearly his techniques and devices-not only those employed today, but also the cunning and diabolical methods by which he and his Brown Shirts (Obama's 7 Million Civillian Person Security Force) combined propaganda and other pressures, first to take over the German state, then to stamp out all vestiges of freedom in it.

this is so typical of liberals.

if CNN was rated number 1, your question would be:

"isn't this a clear indication that only smart intelligent hard working people watch the news"

face it, fox news was rated number one and you HATE it. so you're only option is to insult the viewers.

nice spin, but i disagree. i try to watch msnbc to see what matthews is talking about, but i have to get the tv rag out to wipe the spittting slobber that oozes from his lips.

I agree, but only because I also think Fox News is ridiculous. I don't agree with your premises.

I mean, would you do this exact same rant if Jon Stewart, or Keith Olbermann, or Stephen Colbert was #1 in those ratings?

You seem to know a lot more about TV than I do. Probably because I don't watch much.
