lpg to natural gas conversion?

I have purchased a glem lpg cooktop by accident and would like to convert it to natural gas. I have natural gas to my house already.

Does anyone know how much it would cost to convert it over from LPG to Natural?

yes all you need should need is the natural gas flow orifice, goes in the gas manifold where the gas pipe goes.then burner jets and the oven burner jets, assuming its a clicker.if not a clicker youll need the pilot orifice and jet . you can ask at their website im sure youve got a chance.

now if you were converting from nat to lp you might need a new gas manifold because the head pressure for lp is twice as high and sometimes the gas valve installed wont keep up with the pressure or flow. im sure they can help and even get you some parts.

Source(s): built a water heater and rebuilt the burner gas mix horn on a heat stove etc, propane natural gas mechanic and conversion tec etc, but dont believe me i think she said blem in my typo language or maybe it was gleam.no return on blem

If you don't know anything about gas fitting DO NOT ATTEMPT to change the orifices yourself!!!!!!!! Return the unit for an exchange, or have a certified gas fitter do it for you.

It would be cheaper to exchange it as the parts are relatively cheap but the service call would run at least a hundred bucks. If the appliance store is reputable it may not cost you anything. Make the call.

It is very simple and will cost about 6 or 7 dollars for a new orafice that is natural gas compatable..some stoves have an adjustable orafice..they are very simple to put in with just a common screw driver and a crescent wrench...They will tell you how to do it..the orrafice is simply a little metal ring type item with a hole in it...natural gas and propane use a different size hole is all..that one burns better with more air and the other with less..The small orafice ..makes it correct for the gas you aere using

You could just take it to a gas service outlet.the orifice there talking about isn't the problem myself I would drill the orifice out natural gas takes a larger hole in it because natural gas is under such low pressure.Whats going to happen when you convert this thing be it changing the gas valve or what ever, your going to void all warranty

They need to be converted to operate properly. The regulator would need to be adjusted and all burner orfices either changed or adjusted. The manual will show how. If orfices need to be changed rather than adjusted, they are usually secured to the back of the stove. If you have no instructions call a repair person or the LP gas company for conversion.

all you need is to remove the LP orifice the orifice for LP is very small natural gas doesn't require as small an orifice, the hardware store should be able to help,It is inexpensive,.
