How much input should a husband have in home decoration?

I'm a guy and I think the wife should have all the decision making power for that.

And here's why, myself and most guys I know dont give a rats *** about how our home looks decoration-wise but most women do care a lot and get a lot more satisfaction from it.

BUT she doesn't have to right to make it all girly and uncomfortable. e.g. if she's making everything with pink colors, frills, and little pictures of babies/angels/etc. than that has to stop.

What logical reason do you have for the wife's opinion counting more than the husbands? That's not cool. It's his home too, and there should be a 50/50 agreement on the big stuff such as paint colors, furniture, bedding and stuff like that. Think about it - how would you feel if he demanded control over the entire decor of your home, and picked out stuff you hated? I'm sure you hate camoflage, diamond plate, grease stains and chrome and much as he hates pink flowery stuff, lighthouses or whatever other feminine thing you like, so it's just best all around to pick out things for your home together.

Generally, the woman has much better taste than the man and if you want her to be happy - go along with what she says.

However, I'm here to testify that men can have good taste also.

I like Laura Ashley prints and I decorated "my" bathroom way better than hers!

I used an anaglypta paper for the lower border below a cherry chair rail with a sponged, 3-color wash above matching the cherry finish of the wall-hung vanity cabinet with under-cabinet lighting. (at your feet) The towels match the 4 seasons and I installed a recessed ettigere for my collection of antique crystal perfume bottles. The lighting is of hand-blown calla lillies and the vanity is antique Italian marble with a mosaic - inlaid floor. There are three botanicals on the wall with a spray of silk flowers over the doorway. I did all the tiling, all the painting, all the papering and actually did the plumbing, too. (I'm a plumber)

I like my bathroom WAY better than hers!

It should be joint..you are both living in the same space..but this is if he wants to be involved. My husband does not so I do not ask his opinion I just do what I want with the house.

Joint-decision, compromise. I don't understand why you would think that your opinion is more important than your husbands. It's a home for both of you, you should both be comfortable in it.

I think a joint decision is best and here is why. You like flower that's great for you. Your hubby likes wild life that's great for him. You all need to find what you both like. That way it will feel like home to both of you. You don't won't want to sleep in a room full of animal heads. Well, understand that he don't want to sleep in a room full of flowers. You both need to be happy and comfortable with it the decorations in the room. That way it feels like home to both of you. Think about it!

Your boyfriend is right, it is based on compromise. The wife picks out the colors, the husband picks up the paint brush.

I think it should be the wives or girlfriends choice. Except of course the guys game room or office room. That should be up to the guy.

I think a man's home is his castle and he should have the say in how his castle is decorated as well as his wife. No woman wants to live in a crazy cave, but no man wants to live in fru fru land either.

There should of course be a compromise. You both have to live there, you should agree. Seems like you got kind of unlucky though because most men don't care.
