Arguments agaisnt Eugenics?

Eugenics to a certain degree I believe is all right, ex. retards should not be able to reproduce.

However eugenics where one of the many causes of the holocaust.

You can't justify taking away people's natural rights just because they don't fit your criteria for a "ideal" human.

Common sense ethics should give you an answer without me having to. If not then most likely you are cold-hearted enough that you have already decided that your desire to play God is the most important thing. Furthermore, I am getting the impression that when you say "legitimate arguments please" what you are really saying is "I'ev already decided what I want to hear and if you say anything different I'm going to talk down to you and hurl insults at you".

Off the top of my head, tampering with such things does not guarantee positive results, and in the process there is as much (or even more) potential to do harm as to do good.

I would have to use the "slippery slope" argument.

If you say it's ok to allow a baby to die without medical treatment because it's horribly deformed, what are the moral breaks to stop the general destruction of undesirables in society in general.

The same logic applies.

if the baby is going to be a non-viable member of society- a drain- then that same logic can easily be used for anyone else that is non-productive.

Anyone with psychological problems, people with disabilities, people who are too old to hold a job.

After this distinction, it's going to be- anyone who's left handed (so the burden of producing left handed tools is not placed on society)

or anyone with less then perfect eyesight.

There are no moral brakes to stop up from attempting to shape our selves into a super race.

This is 'artificial' natural selection- and attempts to cull human kind to make it stronger would ultimately make it weak.

People, in general, are morons. They cannot be trusted to direct their own evolution, because they are selfish and mean spirited.

Now, what is the result? What do you get when you have a bunch of hormonally pumped young men with not enough females to go around?

Any thoughts there is a link between cultures that allow plural marriage (multiple female to 1 male) and suicide bombers? What DOES a guy get to live for? Nothing on earth. If he blows himself up- he gets all those promised virgins in the here-after... I mean- how telling is that?

All those Mormon compounds had to expel young males... there were just not enough females to go around.. They were expelled for having thier shirt unbuttoned- but a female would have to ax murder someone to get thrown out.. too valuable.
