Your truck will be about 74' 8" give or take a few inches.
You will need a permit to run Vermont. Standard permit covers 78' overall length. Vermont will route you on your permit. You can request a certain route, but there is no guarantee that Vermont will let you run the route you request.
On a lot of Vermont roads, you need the permit just for the 53' trailer. On the roads that allow 53' trailers without a permit, you will need the permit for overall length. Statutory length in Vermont is 72'.
Everything you need should be at the link below.

I was not going to give any answer because I thought "wvparano" gave a very good answer. He gave length and the proper websites to use. The only reason I am giving an answer is to lend credibility to his statement. He is correct. Many states have restrictions on over-all length of the vehicle, number of axles on the vehicle or even what is referred to as "king-pin to rear-axle" setting (you can't be over on your axles or gross to meet this requirement. whether it be in a particular city, county, route or locale. If you don't meet the requirements you will need to apply for a permit and potentially even a pilot car, depending on circumstance. Good answer wvparano!
