Why do some people think they need to announce, at the end of their question that the answerer might?

get ten points? Do they really think that will motivate people to answer more? To me it is a real turn-off, because it sounds so silly. All questions are worth 10 points to the best answer.

The same reason people answer a question with the famous

    "2 points"

Yes, In fact the people that state that in thier question do believe it is an added incentive.

And it does motivate alot of people because they know the asker is choosing a best answer and not just letting thier question go to voting.

Alot of people are after those 10 points.

It's a marketing ploy, pure and simple
