Not-so-expensive custom t-shirts?

Does anyone know where I can design a custom t-shirt that won't cost me a lot of money? I found this really cool website called CustomInk, but I have to buy a minimum of 6 shirts and it'd be about $200.

Or can anyone tell me where I can by stuff for customizing my own t-shirt?

Cafepress could work, though if you want it for yourself, you'd have to pay for the design after you set up the shop.

If the design is not too difficult, you can stencil it with freezer paper and paint. You can probably just search "stenciling with freezer paper" for a tutorial.

Silk screening/screen printing is also an option, but would probably take a lot of work and you'd have to buy all the equipment.

There are also t-shirt transfers where you can just print out the image and iron it onto the shirt (but read the directions first).

Well, try to find a t-shirt of a good quality, then find out which printing shop provides t-shirt printing services (there should be a lot).

Have your own exclusive design created (custom logo, label, mascot, image etc.) by these guys for example:

That bring the shirts and your exclusive design to the printing shop.

You can have a world unique t-shirt.

You can get software and iron-on paper for your printer if you have an ink jet. Do NOT use these on an ink jet printer.

Also, you could get into silkscreening, which has a big set up fee.

Here is a great tutorial for a method using bleach an wax paper.

For a more professional look, there are sometimes design kiosks in the mall.

I think cafepress might work for you, although you don't get much of a profit from sales.
