Clunking noise when i turn front wheels left 2 right.?
hi i have a 92 acura legend and i noticed i been chasing down a shimmy of the wheel issue for qwite a while now, i noticed when slowing down i would hear a clunk from the front,, i also noticed when i had the car on the lift the other day i started to turn the front wheels if you grasp the wheel and turn it when swithing from left to right you hear a clunk again it seems like its comming from engine or tranny area, i know i have a bad tranny mount but could that be the cause? If so how do i know which one?

could be anything from ball joints, tie rods, control arm bushings. Id have it all checked out. You dont want to bust a ball joint when driving down the road. That will cause some major problems.

It could be inner or outer tie rods, or even a wheel bearing. To check tranny mounts just pry on the tranny and see which one has movement, or look for deterioted rubber.

Look at you steering gear box or rack and pinion mounting bolts or even a cracked or broken mount..
