Is there really "no crying in baseball?"?
How about we make an exception to this and name a few baseball moments that has teared us up / effected us emotionally?
I have one Josh Hamilton's HR Derby performance. It was a great moment because he proved you can turn your life around AND be something great. :]
What is your moment(s)? Thank you baseball section. :]

I am sure you never heard it but there was this kid with cancer.. John Challis and he was put in with a thing on and I don't really know what it was but he got a pinch hit hit and drove in a run and won the game I think?
I dont really know the story but he was faced with one of the toughest obstacles in life and he overcame it to play one last time.. He died a year after he was diagnosed with cancer... I didn't cry but that was pretty emotional. It was on ESPN when he died.. I knew about it because I live in SW PA like him...

Sorry, but I have to make fun of your for crying during a Home Run Derby. However, all that proves is that I am WAY older than you :-)
Moments that left me teary-eyed -
1) Lou Gehrig's farewell speech. Even watching the replay is amazingly touching.
2) Kurt Gibson's game winning HR in the 1988 WS against Oakland. I was not/am not even a Dodgers fan and it was unbelieveably amazing watching it live
3) Boston winning the World Series in 2004. I am not a Red Sox fan, but as a Cubs fan, hope to someday exeperience a similar feeling.
4) The day that Harry Carey died.

Watching the Angels step out onto the field after Nick Adenhart's death.
A tear of joy when the Brewers made it to the playoffs in 2008. After so many years of losing and not being there in 26 years it was a big moment for me. Plus in 1982 I wasn't really old enough to enjoy the World Series or the playoffs, it just was a surreal feeling. They made me so proud...sniff

I didn't cry but a lot of people did when Don Mattingly took his very first post season at bat in the 1995 playoffs against the Mariners. So many people were happy to see that.
It was a very bitter sweet moment watching the Yankees win the World Series in 1996 without Don Mattingly who retired after the 1995 season.

I definitely have cried when the Rangers have won. It doesn't happen too often lol.
Yes, I also cried when Hamilton was doing all those homeruns. I called my mom who doesn't usually watch baseball, and she was all goosebumpy too.
I have cried mostly at the beginning of the season, when they bring the huge flag out, and all the American soldiers. I love my country.
