Tivo Series 2 Dual Tuner-Can it record two shows at once with a satellite dish? (Directv)?
I read that Tivo dual tuner series 2 does not support recording from 2 digital cable or satellite channels at once. What does this mean? Can I record two shows at once with my satellite dish if I buy one?
If it is a dual tuner then why only one channel when using a dish?

The short answer is because while there are multiple tuners in this TIVO box, there is only one satellite tuner.
There are different types of tuners. For instance, with broadcast TV there is the analog NTSC tuner and the digital ATSC. Satellite and cable are the same in that they are unique tuner types and are differnet from either ATSC or NTSC.
I do think it would be better to just state how many of what type tuners the box had, but lets face it, this society is full of people which are apparently scared of technolgy and he possibility of having to actually learn something and they just want the details presented in a way that they do not have to think about. So that is what they got.
