It is misconception that the swine flu comes from eating pork. While Swine flu can affect pigs it also effects many different kind of animals. So, don't worry about eating pork, it won't be infected. Swine flu is sort of like a mix between buird flu, animal flu, and human flu. The reason why so many people are catching it is because it is extremely contagious. And the reason people are becoming so sick is because swine flu is a disease that has evolved from other different kinds flu. This means our bodies have not yet obtained immuinity to it because it is a new disease. I'm with you on this one.It all seems very scary! It freaked me out a little bit when I started to read about it. The best thing to do is stay clean. Wach your hands, use hand sanitizer and clean surfaces that are touched alot. The government has released information that they have a vaccine that will be ready in May. With all the precautions the US and othrer countries are taking it is highly likely that the swine flu will never have a chance to even reach you by the time the vaccine is released. I hoped I could help : ]

They say this is all made up and few hours ago i was freaking out too. Don't be scared but until this goes away just keep washing your hands and stay away from anyone who's been to mexico. Stay away from public restrooms and those kind of dirty places. A hospital is probably the last place you would want to be cause you might make yourself believe that there's something wrong with you. And then you'll go to the doctor and many people there will ACTUALLY have the flu and then you'll catch it. So unless you are feeling bad then i recommend to get checked up. If you're school closes down it's probably safer and stay inside.

The flu comes and goes every year, but every once in a while a new strain of flu appears that is different in such a way that few people (if any) have any resistance. The new flu is then able to spread quickly. That is what makes the swine flu a little different.

tips to help avoid the flu

    1) wash your hands frequently

    2) don't touch your face, especially your eyes, nose or mouth

    3) keep your hands to yourself. avoid direct contact with others

    4) avoid crowds if possible

It comes from birds, pigs, and human flu viruses. You CANNOT catch it form eating pork or poultry. There's a good chance you can become infected but there's a higher chance you won't, and even if you do, you probably won't die because only people in Mexico have died so far. You can't prevent it, and washing your hands isn't going to make you immune to it. Just stay away from people who seem sick. You should stay away from public transportation, but still go to school until it is proclaimed as a phase 6.

like everyone is saying, its not a big of deal as the tv makes it seem. You probably are thinking "then why are such drastic measures being taken?" The reason why its such a big deal its because its a new flu thats infecting people. It has infected humans before, but not like it is now. It is just like the flu, except we have no immunity to it, or so they know so far. They are still researching wheter any human has had immunity to it yet. That is the reason why so many schools are being closed and so on, because we arent immune to swine. But that doesnt mean its going to kill you, there is treatment ofcourse.

Well first of all no one has died from it in America, and just wash your hand, when you sneeze blow it in a tissue and throw it away, stay away from people that are sick. Thats pretty much it. I live in San Diego, which is close to the Mexican boarder and I don't have it. Also if you do get it there is a drug that you have to take within 24 hours that so far has been effective to the people in America. But, seriously stay posted with the news, it helps.

There is really no way to prevent it other than maintaining clean hands. Purell is also good if you can't wash. Remember that washing for a good period of time is important. Right now, there is no need to panic.

In the US 36,000 people die from the flu or flu related illnesses every year. In the US 0 people have died from the swine flu. Why does the swine flu scare you so much? It is still flu season, people will get the flu. It is part of life.

    Wash your hands and relax.
