going fishing after bypass surgery?

had quad bypass monday, came home friday, is this thursday too soon to go fishing, discharge papers say nothing for 2 weeks, but i feel pretty good, is one week too soon to go fishing?

thanks phil, actually is hubby had the surgery, but he insists it is ok, i dont want him going, he hasnt even been back for 1st after surgery checkup yet. if he sees an answer from another man maybe it will sink in, ty.

    You really need to take it easy while your body heals. You just went through MAJOR surgery. They effing split your chest wide open, rerouted the blood through some crazy contraption and stopped your heart for a couple hours.

    You really need to let that heal up. Rent a movie or something instead.

    probably not a good idea--your chest would probably not like the casting off process, or the reeling in one. Plus, how far is the walk?? And are you carrying all your gear? You don't want to mess around---your chest scar may not heal right if you stress it too much, and then you will have an infection or a bigger scar. After all you have been thru to improve your heart health, why not just follow your doctor's advice, and wait the 2 weekes?

    I cant think of a better way to pass my time recouperating than getting out there and fishing !!!
