DO I HAVE SWINE FLU? i live in NY city?

my sis told me a person died from swine flu here in queens new york.

I just wanna seek advice, bcoz i might have this stupid flu.

I have a very bad sore throat for 2 days now. It hurts when i swallow. I dont think i have a fever, i dont have watery eyes or coughing. But i feel semi-weakness.

i've been eating ice cream the other day coz its crazy hot, my dad told me its because of that i have a throat problem

So how can i confirm if i have the flu?

does the symptoms happen at the same time or one by one?

what are other OBVIOUS and severe symptoms?

will i die? coz i'm not ready. i need to go to a paramore concert.

    From the CDC:

The symptoms of swine flu in people are expected to be similar to the symptoms of regular human seasonal influenza and include fever, lethargy, lack of appetite and coughing. Some people with swine flu also have reported runny nose, sore throat, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.

So the main symptoms are fever, lethargy, appetite and coughing. If you don't have those, you probably don't have swine flu. Also, none of the peopel in queens who got swine flu have died. Still, if you're so concerned, or symptoms worsen, you can see the docor or go to the ER. You're not going to just die all of a sudden if you are infected though. The symptoms would have to get much worse and most of the people who died from it were young, elderly or infirmed or did not have access to good medical care or tamiflu vaccine.

No one has died from swine flu in the United States.

It sounds like you have tonsillitis or strep throat. If you don't have a fever, you don't have the flu. Go to the doctor and get a throat culture. You probably need some antibiotics.

you dont have swine flu and its no more deadly than pneumonia or the normal flu. you would have all the symptoms of a regular flu like fever, coughing, ect. and no one has died from swine flu in the U.S. the only reason people are dying from it in mexico is because of their poor healthcare.

  • The symptoms are just like the normal flu, fever, full body ache, upset tummy... the works. But about 3x as bad as normal. If you had it you'd know, don't be a hypochondriac

no way for you to know until you go to the doctor.

What You Can Do to Stay Healthy

There are everyday actions people can take to stay healthy.

    * Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.

    * Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hands cleaners are also effective.

    * Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread that way.

Try to avoid close contact with sick people.

    * Influenza is thought to spread mainly person-to-person through coughing or sneezing of infected people.

    * If you get sick, CDC recommends that you stay home from work or school and limit contact with others to keep from infecting them.

CDC has to report accurate info to the public, ( as far as I know). NOONE has died in the whole United States of America of this new flu variant. No worries, you should go get some medical advice,it could be strep.
