What flowers were used the Atlanta Olympic winner bouquets?
I know sunflowers were used but cannot find much else about them. Help please! And thanks!
I can find pictures and they include sunflowers. A native flower to the South.

Considering when these games took place, which was in late summer, I would think that a selection of local wildflowers would have been used in the bouquets. The only requirement would have been that the blossoms be in the Olympic colors of red, blue, black, yellow, and green, which allows for lots of choices in flowers. Blue could have come from delphiniums, or perhaps even a blue rose. Red would have been anything from roses to gladiolus. Ditto for white, yellow, and green. If sunflowers were used at all, that would have taken care of the black requirement, because these blossoms have black centers.
