It depends on the type of people that you both are. I believe it is absolutely possible to remain together, but I won't lie, it does have its challenges.
First of all you both need to be very comfortable and trusting of each other. It will not work if either of you are overly jealous, since you'll have a lot of time not knowing what the other person is doing. Secondly you both need to be strong and supportive of each other because you WILL have snags, you will bicker, you will cry and feel lonely and needy and depressed. Just remember what you both feel for each other and keep going on.
Third you have to remember to BOTH make the effort. Go see him at weekends, call him, go on webcam, keep in regular contact. He should reciprocate. If love is there, it will conquer, and it will know no obstacle. It might be difficult at first to adjust, but if you can get through that, imagine what else you two can accomplish.
So the verdict is, YES you definitely can. Stay strong, good luck and I hope you two will be very happy together.
Source(s): My man and I have had a long-distance relationship for the past 7 months, he lives 3 hours and £60 away from me, and yet we love each other more than ever and wouldn't dream of being with anyone else. As soon as this term finishes we'll move in together and start our lives as a unit! - 1 decade ago
depends on how far you have to move. long dist. relationships last for a while but you will began to drift apart unless you both plan visiting each other from time to time like on christmas or something
