question about swine flu symptoms?

Do you need all of the symptoms to have swine flu or just a few?

I have started to get some of these symptoms, but others are absent.

Before this swine flu business, I rarely had a runny nose. Now I seem to be having it more often. I don't have a thermometer but my forehead feels hot so I think that might be fever.

And most importantly, lack of appetite is listed. For some reason, today I ate much less than I usually do. I was shocked by it, disturbed, I did not feel hungry, but I knew the amount of calories I ate must have been way too small. but yet, I had no real hunger, I felt full.

As for diarrhea and vomiting , haven't experienced any of that.

Again these symptoms started right alongside the swine flu pandemic spread. I live in Florida and now there are cases being reported here (but not any confirmed yet).

should I only be worried that I have it if I feel really sick ( I don't feel sick at all) ? or does it only get that way as the virus progresses?

Update:

I am just asking. The news sources don't seem to say whether you need all symptoms to have it.

I obviously don't want to have swine flu. so diarrhea is the main thing? I'm just confused. I don't want to have it and not know that I have it.

Update 2:

How can you say that you need to be in contact with people who have been in Mexico? don't you think this is a virus that spreads so fast ? people can get it from anyone!

Once the virus hit the U.S., contact with folks coming in from Mexico was no longer necessary. Don't rely on the news for all your medical information.

You don't really sound sick and your symptoms are vague (except for the rhinorrhea) and unconfirmed (again, except for the rhinorrhea) or nonexistent. Diarrhea isn't a usual symptom of any flu except in children. It is NOT the main symptom. The symptoms of H1N1 infection are the same as for other flu types. And not everyone experiences ALL symptoms of any flu. The only way to know is to be tested for the H1N1 virus.

Now can we move on? I'm tired of hearing about swine flu and the ER is swamped with paranoia and patients. And now some one's posting a question asking if it's true that only Mexicans get swine flu and some one else wants to know if only men get it. Oh brother!

The symptoms of swine flu are similar to that of the normal flu. If you feel that you are experiencing symptoms go to your local clinic and get tested for swine flu. Most likely you don't have it.

The only way you'll know is to get tested. But don't worry yet if the symptoms get worse then get yourself tested otherwise continue as normal.
