very tough Derby contender question ?

I know this is a very difficult question, can anyone tell me the Beyer speed figures for Regal Ransom and Desert Party in the UAE derby, The Daily Racing Form does not list Beyer's for races outside the United States, so if any knows how to calculate and determine the Beyer's for this race that would be greatly appreciated?

Very tough question indeed. Without all of the data, it's almost impossible to

calculate, even if one knows how to do it.

But to get a general idea on how good were their times at UAE derby, try this:

Regal Ransom won in a time of 150.0 for 1 1/8 mile. Desert Party was second,

1/2 length back, so his time is 150.10. The track record for 1 1/8 at Nad Al Sheba

racetrack is 146.92. So Regal Ransom ran a 98.0, and Desert Party ran a 97.9,

    when compared to track record.

I have tried this kind of analysis for all KD contenders. I next compare track records

from all of the various racetracks that the contenders have run at to the track

records at Churchill Downs for that particular distance. I then convert their

time to a 1 1/4 mile (distance of KD), and then convert it a potential Churchhill

Downs time based on track record comparison.

I know this probably doesn't help you.

Good luck in picking a winner.
