WANTED: Meatloaf Recipes?

I belong to a new Yahoo group that collects these recipes and think that here on Yahoo Answers it be a great opportunity to get input on international recipes as well as domestic ones. Please don't quote me websites, I want to see your Mother or Grandmother's recipes or even one you made up of this meaty dish! (I've even heard there's recipes for vegetarian meatloaf!)

If you don 't cook, perhaps you can tell me what restaurant or eatery you went to that served the best ... or worse.

Whenever I make meatload - I use what's available at the time. So it turns out different every time!

The constants are finely chopped onion, a teaspoon of spicy mustard and a egg or 2.

    THe variables are:

Hamburger, Ground Turkey, Ground Veal, Ground Sausage or a mixture of these

Bread soaked in milk - any kind of bread - if it's too wet after the egg is added I used dry bread crumbs to get a better consistancy

    Quick Oats

    Bread or Cracker crumbs

    Celery

Carrots (grated - I like to sneak in some veggies when the kids aren't looking!)

I might top the meat loaf or mix it in with:

Cream of whatever soup - chicken, mushroom, celery

    Tomato sauce

Top with Turkey bacon or regular bacon

    2 lbs ground chuck

    1 /2 pound mild sausage

small onion diced into tiny pieces

    1 egg

    1/2 tube of saltines

    salt and pepper to taste

    ketchup to mix

add all ingredients and mix well. Bake in a 350 degrees Oven for about 2 hours.

when meatloaf is almost done, cover the top and sides with ketchup and bake for 10 minutes.

I serve this with cooked cabbage and potatoes and baked beans, OR potato salad,, baked beans , mac n cheese and hot dinner rolls.

to mine i add i onion, small bell pepper and 1 stalk of celery that i sautee till tender. also some bread crumbs, salt, pepper, garlic and a little dinosaur bbq foreplay seasoning. and of course the ground beef. i cook it for about 45 minutes at 350. i mix ketchup, a little brown sugar and a little hot sauce and pour it over the top and cook for 15 more minutes. i just started doing it this way and i am going to keep doing it. it is so much better than my old recipe.

edit: I forgot to say that i also add an egg to the ground beef mixture.
