everything the government do is full of loop holes, so?
if we all get £2,000 for buying a new electric car, shall we all go and buy a Scalextric in the toy shop and cash in, do you think it would work

A truly potty idea by a government who have really lost the plot. The thought of this even getting a start makes you want to laugh for even being suggested.
We have absolutely no infra structure to give it it some consideration.
Where are we getting the electricity from after 40 miles or so? Where are the plug-ins being situated? Who the hell will be able to afford to buy these cars in the present climate, even with the £2000?
If this government can produce this amount of money, why don't they support the Air Ambulance and the like who have to rely on charity.

It's not 2000 for buying an electric car. It's 2000 for buying a new car while trading in an old car over 10 years old. It's to help stimulate the economy. And you need to have owned the car for over 12 months.

Guess it's to soon to know. The majority of people (including me) thought the VAT cut was a waste of time, but we were proved wrong. I personally would have went down a different route, maybe letting anyone who buys a new car this year, swap it for a new model next year. Better than letting them all rot on the forecourts.
