In addition to what Larry said, perhaps something from his school bookstore....like a license plate frame that says ".....alumni". That's not very expensive and if he is proud of his school I think he will like it. The also have lots of other gifts with the school logo or mascot. Believe it or not some guys actually like the school stuffed animal mascot. Maybe a beer stein with the school logo on it. You could get a silver picture frame engraved with the date, his name and degree. I suggest a 5X7 frame. (they have those stores in malls that do this stuff fast and pretty inexpensive).

You could get a gift certificate and put it in a card, a wallet, cologne or maybe a watch. Good Luck!!!
