Why do you think jockey Mike Smith is aboard Chocolate Candy for the Derby?

Mike is a great jockey, does he think this horse, who has never raced on dirt before, has a chance of winning?

It probably was the only mount that he could get that has the earnings to make the 20 horse field limit. When Mike Smith won the kentucky derby aboard Giacamo at 50-1 i don't think he or anyone else thought he could win, but in horse racing flukes do happen as the third place finisher (Afleet Alex) came back to win the Preakness by almost six lenghts and took the belmont by 11 lenghts as Mike Smith and Giacamo failed to even finish in the money.

Considering Smith won the Kentucky Derby with 50-1 longshot Giacomo, I'm guessing he thinks Chocolate Candy has a chance to win. (His morning lines odds are a mere 20-1).

  • He should have a shot Mike is a jock that has riden in this race many time he has experience and the horse is a closer i think he will handle the track well look at I Want Revege and Papa Clem they seem to adapt to is pretty well

Einstein never ran on grass, but won @ Santa Anita.
