You can use the SN to IM this person. But like Sexxy said, if they are not using the SN, account or Yahoo any more then you'll strike out.
sign_name@yahoo.com will give you an email address. Another shot in the dark but worth a try. If the SN is an alias this won't work.
And of course, Google everything!

It is possible but if yahoo search didn't work that person could have changed their screen name or stopped using yahoo all together.
