Pat T, not ALL mammals give birth this way. The monotremes - that is, the duck-billed platypus and the echidnas - have a cloaca, a single opening through which they do all their business ('monotreme' literally means 'one hole'). They lay eggs rather than giving birth to live young, too.

Eventually - after a few days your intestine would just explode, and your body would be filled with waste products which would then build up and kill you.
