    I kinda like it, dog. the past events you're describing brings up curiosity of what else has happened to these guys. I can tell how the rain could be a symbol throughout the story. now about the romance; the only romance I can see is that of heroic romantism, a fearless/gallant/passionate/selfless person. Tell us the title of the novel and I'll pick up a copy when you get it published.
