White flowering tree identification?

I have a tree growing in my yard and have no idea what it is. I've tried some tree identification sites, but nothing seems to match up. The leaves are deciduous, alternate, simple, and fine toothed. They are green now, but turn purple later. It flowers in the spring. The flowers are small and white with five rounded petals.

Update:

I live in Utah in zone 6B if that helps.

That's a cherry -- something in genus Prunus. (Probably a hybrid, if the leaves turn purple. I can't think of any wild-type species with that much anthocyanin.) To confirm that ID, check the base of the petiole (where the leaf stalk meets the leaf): cherries have a pair of tiny glands on opposite sides of the petiole.

There are people on here from all over the world. It would help if you tell us which country/which state. Flora varies significantly around the world.

apple or cherry? idk, but i do know that if you spray out the grass around it and mulch it will be much healthier. you could also stake it to straighten it up
